Tunnel vision: Speed queen Leslie Porterfield meets the BMW S 1000 RR in the Wind Kanal

Picture this: the world’s fastest woman on two wheels, with the fastest production motorcycle BMW has ever built, inside the world’s largest and most advanced wind tunnel.

As far as synergies go, it’s as close to perfect as you can get, and when top photographer Markus Hofmann organised a special fashion shoot and arranged for multiple motorcycle world record speed holder Leslie Porterfield to model several of the latest fashion creations of famous fashion designers, the results were simply stunning.

For photographer Markus Hofmann, making this shoot happen was the realisation of a long-term ambition: “I have been a fan of Leslie’s for some time and when I found out that she was in Europe, I was determined to make her an offer for a fashion photo shooting, which she was very enthusiastic about. I organised some very high-class wardrobe from Thomas Kirchgrabner für LISKA, Marcel Ostertag and Karl Lagerfeld and was able to gain access to the BMW Windkanal (wind tunnel) in order to use it as a photo set. My wish and desire was to show Leslie Porterfield in a glamorous way but with a twist of sexy and wild to it, and I can safely say that we have achieved this!”
